Catch the 9:14 train to Romiley - arrives at 10:10. You can get an off-peak ticket - £12.15 with railcard.
Gordon will meet train at Dore. Dave might be at Sheffield Station.
The route: Chadkirk chapel (coffee), Peak Forest Canal, Aqueduct, Marple Locks (there is a flight of 16), Marple Memorial Ground (lunch and toilets), Macclesfield Canal, Windlehurst Hall, Lea Cote Farm, Peak Forest Canal, New Mills Central Station. We will be able to get the 16:15 and depending on conditions we might make the 15:15 train.
A lot of the walk is flat but there are some short steep climbs and descents to give it a Moderate rating. There are some awkward stiles with a long drop from the cross bar and some muddy sections.
We will have coffee and lunch a bit earlier than normal so that we have seats and toilets. We aim to finish the walk while it is still quite bright.
