Most of the walk is on field paths and tracks. There will be cattle in some of the fields so no dogs on this walk. Some steep sections up to the top of the fell, but worth it for the views. Some sections may be muddy after rain. There are a couple of minor roads to cross and short sections of road walking. Lots of gates but only one stile. There are a couple of small streams to cross along the route.

Toilets available in Wolsingham a short distance from the start. Post-walk refreshments at the Black Lion in Wolsingham.

Meet at Desmesne Picnic Area car park. Parking charge £2 for 3 hours, £5 for 24 hours. Free parking available elsewhere in village but space limited.
