Rendezvous at 10:00 for a prompt 10:15 start, the car park/start is 4 miles south east of Stroud / 4 miles north east of Dursley. In the morning, we follow the Cotswold Way to Selsey Common, where we should enjoy amazing 360 degree views. We will visit the topograph to locate local features - and more distant ones, as far away as Sugar Loaf and Hay Bluff. In the afternoon, on the return section, we swing south, through Woodchester Vineyards into the landscaped valley of Woodchester Park (National Trust). The walk reaches Woodchester House, an unfinished gothic mansion where there are tea rooms (and WCs) and hopefully we will be in time for refreshments, followed by a 20 – 30-minute walk, to return to Coaley Peak viewpoint. This is a pleasant gently undulating walk with one short steeper climb, rewarded with superb views. Please bring a picnic lunch. NB Those wanting a longer walk option (an extra 1.5 miles), can go on via Selsey village, where there is the opportunity to visit All Saints Church, to see the resplendent stained glass windows, the work of William Morris and his Arts and Crafts collaborators, Maddox- Brown and Rossetti. Please contact leader by Thursday 13 July to confirm and arrange lift sharing. Registered Assistance Dogs only. TW Walk Leader WM 07749 750067 / 01844 215364
