We are the Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk starts and finishes at The Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum. The route passes Dalrigh, Ardormie and Auchtertyre with some fantastic scenery on the way. Most of the walk is on good paths, tracks with a bit of tarmac thrown in. Some of the route is on The West Highland Way. Early in the walk, if the weather is clear, there should be good views of Ben Lui.
Other points of interest are:
Where a King was defeated at the Battle of Dalrigh.
The Holy Pool. The first swimming pool with segregated bathing areas. Which, reputedly, has healing properties. Particularly for those whose mental stability was in question.
The Falls of Auchtertyre (Probably for the more sure footed members of the group)
The Lochan of the Lost Sword. Where a famous person disposed of his sword.

Walk by private bus. Numbers will be restricted.

Travel to start of walk by private bus. Pick up points in Cumbernauld: 8:50am - Craiglinn Roundabout Bus Stop 8:55am - Condorrat Main Road Bus Stop. 9.00 am - Meet at Fleming House car park, Tryst Rd, Cumbernauld (see map) **** Bus back at Cumbernauld approximately 6pm. ****
