Overview

A moderate walk in the Culm Valley that starts at 11am sharp in Uffculme village centre. The route will take us along the Culm Valley and up to Culmstock Beacon, from where there is a great view across the valley. The return route will include a loop just south of Uffculme that takes us up the valley side and through some woods.

Walking at a brisk pace I aim to arrive back in Uffculme by 4.30pm, by which time it will be dusk, so bring a torch just in case. If we are running behind schedule I can shorten the walk. Being the English countryside in winter, and also in a valley, we should be prepared for some muddy conditions underfoot if there has been a lot of rain on the days leading up to the walk.
