We are the Leicestershire & Rutland Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
An 8.5 mile moderate walk through countryside rich in reminders of our industrial heritage. The route passes through woodland and across agricultural land, and will include sections that are muddy. Our lunch stop will be at Hough windmill.
There is no opportunity for a pub stop anywhere along this route, so please ensure you bring sufficient food and drink supplies for the day.
Please wear appropriate clothing (not jeans) and footwear for an all day walk, that will include some muddy sections. You should also carry additional layers and waterproof
You will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water for a day's hiking as there will be no pub stops on this walk.
There are no toilets along this route.
Park and meet in the car park for Coalville Forest Adventure Park at the end of Linden Way. The car park is believed to be free but closes at 4.00 pm so we will depart promptly at 10:30. (Note 6'6 height limit at entrance to carpark)
