Round off the summer programme with a member's garden party & walk from Lubstree Park, off Humber Lane. A 5 mile walk (can be extended by continuing from a point on the shorter walk) will be followed by a social get-together, afternoon picnic "splash & bash" garden gathering. If anyone wants a longer walk a self-guided 8 mile option is available towards Edgmond and back. A contribution towards snacks, eats & drinks will be welcomed. The Weald Moors is one of Telford's protected 'strategic landscapes' . It's an unusual countryside for Shropshire in that it is a flat and gently undulating, sparsely populated area, dissected by drainage channels, old canals and the remains of balancing pools and the narrow Strine Brook. The rights of way are mainly broad bridleway tracks. There are relatively few footpaths between farms, small hamlets and villages and woodland coppices.
