Overview

A walk amongst the Iron Age barrows of south Dorset with some new information thrown into the mix that you may not know. This walk starts off at the Maiden Castle carpark (free), passes through Martinstown, up to the South Dorset Ridgeway via Pen Barn farm with hopefully some views to Poole harbour and then back to Maiden Castle via Higher Ashton Farm. It is around 7.5 miles but there are some hills up to 150m.

Tracks with a small amount of road. No stiles but there will be some mud on the descent At the end of the walk, independent strolls to see the remains of the Roman temple at Maiden castle can be done to extend the walk distance.
