Please note the early start time of 09.15am
A varied walk with stiles (4 very tricky), to be honest, it's only 2 stiles, but we have to cross them twice - Su reported these but they are not likely to be brought up to standard in time. Also 2 streams to cross, (again, only 1, but we do it twice) so please bring poles if you use them.
There will certainly be mud. We walk from the car park through woodland and will stop for the morning break (depending on weather) either before or after a sculpture trail.
We then head down through more woodland to Taffs Well, where we have lunch in the park that is the home of the only thermal spring in Wales. I have it from a reliable source, (Jackie) we'll be able to see the spring, although Su and I presumed it was closed when we did the recce.
I know I'm name dropping here, but these 2 ladies have helped me so much when planning walks since I started to lead, I want to thank them for their input.
We'll then walk along the River Taff before heading back into some woodland and having an opportunity to see the 3 bears caves, before heading back to the car park. There are several climbs, although not too steep.
Timing will be important, so breaks won't be rushed, but not over leisurely.
I hope to see you there, and I hope no one thinks it's too early for some home-made mince pies !
