Via Vinnells Lane & Mardell Farm. First of two walks, morning and afternoon which can be linked together, with a picnic stop at lunch time, or can be walked separately.
The morning walk will take in a taste of West Meon village before passing over the disused Meon Valley rail-track. We then take a route across fields with lovely views through the Meon Valley. A quiet lane will take us up and then down to cross the A32 where we join a bye-way to cross a lane at Marlands on to a bridleway. A footpath is our route through Sutton Park, and a combination of lanes and rights of ways is taken to Marldell Farm where a bridleway invites us forward and then with views opening up a footpath will beckon us down hill back to West Meon.

Some muddy sections will be encountered, but with the appropiate footwear walking boots or wellingtons will be ok. Some ups and downs but nothing to worry about. Some stiles, four if I can remember. Don't forget to bring a drink for morning break, and if your taking part in the afternoon walk leave your picnic in the car.
