Overview

Co-led by Anna Dobie, this is a seldom tramped round of the West Water hills just to the West of Baddinsgill Reservoir. This walk takes us over Kings Seat, Byrehope Mount, Craigengar ( where sandstone slabs can be found with the names of generations of the Dunlop family from Dolphinton carved into them, dating back to 1897), Fadden and Catstone. We cross the dam wall of West Water Reservoir (which is one of a number of sites where Pink-footed geese from Greenland and Iceland migrate during the winter) and back to the cars

Off road parking at a water treatment building. Turn off A702 at West Linton and follow Medway Road Northwards towards Baddinsgill. Pass the golf course and park by the access track to a small water treatment building.
