Overview

Starting from Pangbourne, we cross Whitchurch Bridge into Whitchurch-on-Thames. Then we will follow the Thames Path before heading up to Great Chalk Wood and Cold Harbour, returning to Pangbourne via Whitchurch Bridge again.

This hilly walk includes 750 feet of ascent in total. Please bring a packed lunch and drink, as usual.

Meet for a 10:40 start in the car park outside Pangbourne Village Hall on Station Road. This Pay-and-Display car park is free on Sundays. By train from Reading take the 10:25 Didcot Parkway service, which stops at Pangbourne at 10:33. It is a three minute walk from the station to the car park. (Turn right out of the station office and right again onto Station Road.)
