Please note that parking charges now apply and you should be able to pay by app. We start the walk from Kings Standing Clump car park. There are multiple car parks a short walk from the one we will be starting at, and the Ashdown Forest Riding Centre is just to the north and Sussex Police Training Centre is to the south just after the last car park. If you drive down the B2026 you will see King’s Standing Clump car park on the left-hand side just after the junction with the B2188. Please note there are no toilets at the start and the closest postcode is TN6 1XE. Join us as we explore the Ashdown Forest, home to Winnie the Pooh. From here we will head north and then down into the 500 Acre Wood. We will then take the Wealdway and then turn off towards Hartfield and our first stop. After about 5 miles we will stop and for a drink and cake at the Winnie the Pooh Café. We will then take the High Weald Landscape Trail over to Ashurst Wood and have our drink stop at the Maypole Inn. We will have our picnic lunch a short walk after the pub stop. After lunch we join up with the Forest Way, which is a disused railway, and then we continue south and down to Pooh Sticks Bridge for a short break and if anyone would like a game of Pooh Sticks. Then we walk up on to open land and onto the Memorial to A.A. Milne at Gils Lap view point, then back to the car park. After the walk we will be heading to The Crow and Gate Inn (Uckfield Rd, Crowborough TN6 3TA) for a drink and food if anyone is interested. The pub is about 2.5 miles south of the walk start/finish carpark.
