Overview

Starting in the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Wood we make our way via Grange Wood to Battram Wood. Then via Redholme Bungalow to Sence Valley Forest Park to re-enter the Queen Elizabeth Wood and back to the start.

Toilets and refreshments are available at Sence Valley Wood.

The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee was created in 2012. It covers 186 hectares and is now becoming an established woodland with a small lake at its heart.

Battram Wood is a 48ha site, and was planted between 1998 and 2001. Battram Wood is intended to demonstrate best practice in managing woodland for multiple uses. . Cherry, ash and conifer will be harvested after 50 years. 350 oaks and yews form the Millenium Circle, the focal point of the woodland.
