This is a 8 mile circular walk beginning and ending at the Anchor Inn in Wimblington.
We will follow a succession of farm tracks and green lanes and cross March golf course, almost all of it off-road until we arrive in March. We will stop for a break half-way at Ye Olde Griffin Hotel, which has toilets. Then a short section along the River Nene, followed by the quiet backstreets of March, and then a long section along a disused railway line before finally making our way back to Wimblington. The Anchor Inn has a beer garden and serves food all afternoon.
The whole walk is 8 miles and should take 3-4 hours plus the break in March.
There should be no problem parking (for free) in Wimblington.
Some of the paths are muddy with puddles so it would be advisable to wear waterproof boots and carry a pole
