Wotton circular

A 6 mile circular walk starting from the Wotton Village car park with circa half of the route following the Greensand Way. The walk keeps south of the A25 with an initial long descent of circa 600ft northwards towards Westcott , passing eastwards on the the outskirts of the village. We then turn north, leaving the Greensand Way on mostly well marked and managed footpaths and bridleways. On our return we keep to the footpath, a long steady climb passing through woodland managed by the Wotton Estate. A walk bonus is that there are no stiles which need to be climbed over and minimal yomping across fields (although a little!). Given the recent heavy rain there will be the odd muddy stretch but less than might be expected. We start and finish at the Wotton Hatch pub for those who want a drink and light bite to eat.
