Linear to Sandling Station led by Pamela C (Mobile No: 07538 509205) over undulating terrain, most of the walk follows the escarpment of the North Downs with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside, and over coast and sea in the afternoon. We pass the Wye Crown Memorial, the Devil’s Kneading Trough, the Brabourne Downs, Stowting, Farthing Common and Tolsford Hill before descending to Sandling. The route is the reverse of a Saturday Walker’s Club walk, Sandling to Wye, which can be found on their website, if desired. Please bring all the food and drink you need with you, there will be a picnic lunch. No drop out points. Joint walk with Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Group. Map: E137/138, L 179 or 189.
Check trains the day before. Buy a super off-peak day return to Sandling, advice from ticket office and train conductor is that as return fares to Wye and Sandling are exactly the same, an inspector would be happy with an explanation; there are no barriers at either station.
