A walk in the Wyre Forest which is one of the largest and most important ancient oak woods in England.with old orchards and ancient meadows to steep sided valleys with swift rocky streams it’s home to a rich variety of wildlife.The Forest is steeped in history, there have been trees growing here for over a 1000 years.The forest was once a centre of enormous economic activity with water mills dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries scattered along the Dowles Brook.
The walk also includes a section of the river Severn and and Dowles Brook with Lunch at Knowles Mill.
There will be an opportunity for refreshments at the Button Oak pub at the end of the walk.
