A pleasant evening walk starting from Clifford's Tower in York, along the riverside and back through the centre.
We walk from Clifford's Tower down on to the riverside, taking in a short section of the Minster Way. We cross the river over Millennium Bridge, which is normally lit up with colourful lights, then along the riverside back towards the centre. We pass through the centre and make our way to Scarborough Bridge where we walk a short section along the river before heading back through town to Clifford's Tower.
🅿️ The nearest car parks at St George's Field and Castle (by Clifford's Tower) – cost £4 for the evening, or £1 with a Minster badge
🚌 Regular buses from across York and to nearby towns – the nearest stops are Clifford Street and Piccadilly – or it's a 15–20 minute walk from the railway station
🐶 Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead
🍺 After the walk we can visit The Three Tuns pub for a drink and a warm up! (The pub is dog friendly)
🔦 We will be walking on pavements/cycle tracks that have street lights but it would still be advisable to bring along a torch
⚠️ If there has been a lot of rain and the river is high, an alternative route will be used which may be slightly shorter. The meeting point will remain the same
