What we do
Footpath Maintenance
The Silver Slashers are a group of Ynys Mon Ramblers volunteers dedicated to keeping our footpaths in good condition. They meet most Fridays and work closely with the Council.
The Councils’ Footpath Team and Richard Welsby, our Footpath Maintenance Secretary, decide what needs to be done and where. Mainly this is improving access on the Coastal Footpath and working on inland paths to provide circular routes to communities.
So, they might be replacing a ladder stile with a kissing gate, building a bridge over a stream, cutting back overgrowth or building boardwalks over a boggy bit – there’s not much they can’t tackle!
