When The Art Yard, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and the Ramblers conspire- the result is an exciting nature-inspired walk and draw session. The Art Yard is a community art hub located in the heart of the Black Country which nurtures and celebrates those with a passion for art regardless of level and medium preference. Several walks are available but this walk begins at The Art Yard and follows a route through St Luke's Green space and the former church yard over to the open playing fields of Bearmore Park recreation ground. The former is steeped in history whilst the latter is a part-tree lined grassed space with steep sides on one aspect and a footpath on the other. Whether it be an exploration of the monuments and headstones within the former churchyard or the patterns of the bark on the trees, there is a plethora of creative inspirational sources to evoke even the most novice of artists.
The walk will take a circular route beginning and returning to The Art Yard but we can guarantee a refreshment stop to recharge and share ideas. All welcome from a budding through to experienced artist. The focus is on enjoying the process, getting more physically active and connecting with others.
Please note, the walk route has some steep slopes and the paths are uneven in places so this walk is unfortunately, not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues.
