When The Art Yard, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and the Ramblers conspire- the result is an exciting nature-inspired walk and draw session. The Art Yard is a community art hub located in the heart of the Black Country which nurtures and celebrates those with a passion for art regardless of level and medium preference. They offer a team of trained and willing walk leaders and art lovers eager to impart their creative geniuses on anyone with a passion for art. There are several walks on offer but this walk explores the beauty of Haden Hill park and Corngreaves Nature Reserve. Set in around 55 acres of beautiful parkland, Haden Hill House presents an historical Victorian Landscape with a Victorian Mansion, Tudor Hall and ornamental lakes. The Park offers children's play areas, bowling greens and formal garden areas. The park and woods also incorporate the lovely Corngreaves Nature Reserve which is a more rugged landscape running parallel to the River Stour.
Whether it be an exploration of the Victorian architecture or the beauty of our native flora and fauna within the wilderness of Corngreaves Nature Reserve, there is a plethora of creative inspirational sources to evoke even the most novice of artists.
The walk will take a circular route beginning and returning at either Haden Hill main car park or Corngreaves car park depending on the month's art theme and route, but we can guarantee a stop to recharge and share ideas. All welcome from a budding through to experienced artist. The focus is on enjoying the process, getting more physically active and connecting with others. Please note, the area has steep slopes and the paths are uneven in places so this walk is unfortunately, not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues.
