This circular route is around the beautiful Kingmoor South Nature Reserve and encompasses the fields within the centre of the reserve which were opened for public access in 2024. Although the path is well surfaced (gravel paths are now in place through the fields) as we are walking within a nature reserve it is suggested that suitable footwear is worn for the conditions. Parts of the reserve can be muddy in wet weather.
Kingmoor Nature Reserve has been enjoyed by the public for nearly 700 years, since King Edward II gifted the original moorland to the people of Carlisle in 1352. This new route which takes in the new extension to the reserve will bring you a new perspective to this well loved nature reserve.
Circular walk around Kingmoor South Nature Reserve on gravel and woodland paths.
Parking available in the reserve car park, however please note that there are limited spaces.
Walks will depart at 10.30am and 1.00pm. The 1.00pm walk will be led by Helen Tickner.
