Overview

Regular friendly group walks often with a cuppa at some point, are at the heart of Walk This Way Wellbeing Walks. Our social walks take place in and around the beautiful town of Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park. The weekly walks alternate between a shorter Grade 2 and longer Grade 3 walk. Grade 2 are approximately 60 minutes duration and can include some uneven ground and inclines. Grade 3 walks are more demanding and a longer duration of up to 90 minutes walking, could be on uneven ground and include inclines or even stiles. Walks may take longer with pauses to admire scenery, flora and fauna. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes ahead of walk start times especially if you are a new walker to the group. We recommend wearing sturdy comfortable footwear. A Walker 'sign-up' form can be completed before taking part in the walks, either in advance or at your first walk. We suggest walkers carry an ICE card (In Case of Emergency) with information to include your name, your emergency contact name, & their contact number, and any of your medical conditions you wish to share. We provide you with one of these to complete. A register is taken before each walk begins. For further information and forms please contact Chrissie Drew, Green Spaces Projects Officer chrissie.drew@teignbridge.gov.uk or call 01626 215751.
