Steps and Stories is a chance to discover the joy of audiobooks through Newcastle Libraries' Reading for Wellbeing Team's new audiobook walks.
Come and join the team for a audiobook walk around Walker Riverside Park. Enjoy a picturesque green space along the River Tyne, featuring scenic walking and cycling paths, diverse wildlife habitats, and river views.
The walk will start and finish at Walker Park East car park. This walk will last around an hour. There are refreshments and facilities available at Pottery Bank Community Centre (Yelverton Cres, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 3SW)
The whole walk takes place on tarmacked footpaths. There are sections of steep steps. These can be slippery in wet conditions. Therefore, this walk may not be accessible for those who use a wheelchair.
Please contact on readingforwellbeing@newcastle.gov.uk to raise any queries about the walks accessibility.
This walk is free and there is no charge to take part
Tablets with preloaded stories are available for those who do not have access to a personal device which they can access audiobooks on.
Support is available to support participants to access the Libraries Borrow box app to access the libraries collection of audiobooks.
