Overview

On Thursday the 10th August it is intended to do the 'special' longer day out to Allington Lock. Meet us outside the Brenchley in Jubilee Square near the old Town Hall as normal, ready to leave promptly at 11:00. From there the walk will be led across the High Street down towards the river to cross under Fairmeadow onto the town-side of the river.  The walk will have the usual pauses along the way taking around an hour and a quarter and on arrival at the lock light refreshments can be taken either from food brought by yourself or bought from the Little Old Toll House there or from the nearby Malta Inn.

Return is intended to be by the Kentish Lady, which arrives on the half-hour for which there will be a cash charge on boarding - believed to be around £4 for mature travellers! Alternatively some may choose to walk back.
