Discover 40 of our favourite UK walks

We’re delighted to announce the release of The Ramblers Handbook, a new guide to Britain’s best walks. Gathering together 40 of our favourite routes around the UK, the guide is arranged by season, making it easy to find the perfect walk for every time of year.

So whether you’re looking to amble through bluebell-carpeted West Country woodlands in spring or experience the fiery autumnal hues of the Wye Valley Forest, you can find the perfect route for you.

There is no better way to enjoy the landscape, seasons and incredible diversity of our wildlife than to get out there and immerse yourself in nature. And there is no time like the present to start.

The book encompasses a varied selection of walks that cater for all levels of fitness and experience, from short country strolls to challenging hill hikes. So there are routes here for everyone to follow. And with each walk featuring a description, map, detailed route instructions and notes about landmarks and wildlife to look out for, you’ll have everything you need to go out and explore.

As well as these stunning walks, the Handbook also includes chapters on the health and wellbeing benefits of walking and tips on how to get started. And if you’re looking for inspiration, the guide features profiles of Rambler members, including Louise Trewern who discusses how rambling helped to ease the pain of her arthritis and fibromyalgia.

The Ramblers Handbook doesn’t just contain wonderful walks: it also supports the Rambler’s work to protect the places we all love to wander.

As Britain’s walking charity, the Ramblers is dedicated to removing barriers so everyone can enjoy the outdoors and stands up to protect our green spaces. And with 10% of every purchase of the Ramblers Handbook going to help support this work, you can explore some of Britain’s best loved routes while supporting the charity dedicated to keeping them open and accessible to all.
