Support our Legal Fund
Join the fight for everyone’s right to enjoy the outdoors

At the Ramblers, our legal fund means we can protect hard-won rights and challenge issues that put public paths and access to nature at risk.
These issues often start small. A wilful obstruction on a path. A signpost taken away. Barbed wire that blocks a path that’s been used for centuries. But they can escalate.
Local communities are often the first to become aware of problems and become the driving force in trying to overcome them. But if the strength of national organisation is needed or the outcome has the potential to not only affect walking locally but affect everyone, everywhere, we will work alongside them to make sure the law is upheld.
From the countryside to the courtroom, we’ll fight all the way for your right to enjoy the great outdoors.
We’re often up against the rich and powerful, who have lots of resources at their disposal. But, with your support we are a force to be reckoned with. A movement of hundreds of thousands of people, committed to protecting everything that makes walking in England, Scotland and Wales so special.
Donate today and you could help us:
-
provide legal advice to local communities.
-
challenge decisions that prevent paths being legally recorded and protected.
-
fight cases could have far-reaching consequences nationally, like the recent Hayton Woods High Court case.
Local communities are often the driving force in trying to overcome problems. But if strength in numbers is needed or a case could have national as well as local implications, we work alongside them to make sure the law is upheld.
From the countryside to the courtroom, we’ll fight all the way for your right to enjoy the great outdoors.
