New National Park a step closer
The proposed boundaries of Wales’ new National Park are published for consultation
The next step has been taken towards a new National Park in Wales, with the launch of a public consultation on the potential Park’s boundary. Based on the current Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the extended area could stretch to the borders of Eryri National Park in the south, and include places like the Dyfnant Forest, Ceiriog Valley and Y Berwyn. If Welsh Government give the Park the go ahead in 2026, it would be Wales first new National Park since 1957.
Natural Resources Wales are inviting people to share their views on the Park boundary proposal and are holding a series of online and in-person meetings over the coming months. Online responses are also invited. The closing date is Monday 16th December and all the information can be found here: Wales's New National Park Proposal - Public Consultation 2024 - Natural Resources Wales Citizen Space - Citizen Space (cyfoethnaturiol.cymru)
Ramblers Cymru would also welcome hearing from members and supporters to inform our response to the proposals. Please get in touch and share your thoughts: Rebecca.Brough@ramblers.org.uk
