Walk details

We will meet in Wallingford to set off on a 10.5-mile circular route. We’ll start with a leisurely stroll through the town’s streets, after which we will make our way towards Wittenham Woods, where the lush greenery and the sounds of nature will provide a refreshing backdrop for our walk.

As we continue through the woods, we’ll ascend the iconic Wittenham Clumps, where we’ll pause to take in the expansive views of the surrounding countryside. This will be a great opportunity for photos and a moment to appreciate the beauty of the area. Once we’ve enjoyed the scenery, we’ll begin our descent toward Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, eager for our next stop.

Upon reaching Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, we’ll visit the Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary. This stop will allow us to meet and pet several rescued donkeys. It’s sure to be an engaging experience that adds a meaningful touch to our day. The donkey sanctuary is free to enter, but they do accept donations and there is a small shop.

After the donkey sanctuary, we will return to Wallingford where we will end the walk.
