Overview

Park in Bridge End, leave the A4074 follow the main road to the village and left turn after crossing the bridge, opposite the Abbey (grid reference: SU 578 940, what three words: nagging, stuns, removeable, nearest postcode OX10 7JP). The walk crosses fields to Days Lock on the River Thames. After passing Little Wittenham there is a fairly steep climb with rewarding views of the surrounding countryside at the top. The walk back follows part of the Thames Path before returning to Dorchester. Walking poles are recommended. Refreshments afterwards are available at pubs and cafes in Dorchester.
