We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk takes us along the top of Martinsell hill where we should get some good views over The vale of Pewsey, weather permitting. We then descend over the Giants Grave using the White horse Trail to the Kennet and Avon canal. Passing Pewsey Wharf where we can see the narrow boats moored along side to continue along the canal path until we start to head back up hill near Stowell Park passing Draycot Fizz Payne to reach the the top and Gopher Wood. We rejoin the White Horse way/Tan Hill way passing several earth works on our return to the start.
The walk is mainly in the open so dress according to the prevailing weather on the day

There is one steep descent which can be slippery in wet weather and one long steady ascent.
Please meet in the small car park at Martinsell Hill on the Clench road which is off the A345. Due to the small size please car share if possible. this car park is popular with dog walkers
