A circular walk from Greenham Common control tower. The route will cross the eastern section of Greenham Common, taking in Crookham Common before turning south to include Kingsclere Woodlands. This provides opportunity to view the eastern ponds, renowned for migrating waterfowl.
The walk is of 12 miles duration and includes modest climbs totalling some 550ft. Paths on the Commons are generally gravel based so the conditions there should be sound. Expect muddy areas in the wooded sections, particularly where clay is the primary surface and water courses are prevalent. There is a short section of road where traffic speed is a concern. The number of stiles is unknown but will be few.
Typically rain can be expected.
Numbers are limited to 16 and participants should register via the link provided.
Please bring sufficient food / drink for the day and ensure that your walking kit is appropriate to the anticipated conditions.
