A quintessential walk in the heart of the Lake District, taking in Swinescar Pike, Little Castle How, Great Castle How, Easedale Tarn, Blea Rigg, Sergeant Man, ((plus possibly/maybe High Raise if time, weather permit) Codale Head, Tarn Crag and Greathead Crag, with wonderful views of the surrounding fells.
This walk is strenuous with rough, rocky ground and some boggy stretches. (B+ grade on the old standard) Maximum 12 people. Unsuitable for dogs.
High Raise is optional and can be included if time and weather allows. This would add approx 1 mile and 30 minutes to the walk (10 miles instead of 9). Negligible addition to the total ascent.
Public Toilets available in Grasmere village. Fee payable
