Walking in the Vale of Belvoir
Vale of Belvoir Ramblers is a small and friendly group based in the Vale of Belvoir in south east Nottinghamshire. Our current programme offers weekly Sunday and monthly mid-week walks. In addition, in June and July, we offer leisurely Evening Strolls, often ending with a sociable drink at a pub.
Many of our walks are in and around the Vale but we walk further afield in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire with regular trips to the Peak District.
Call 01949 836042, email vbramblers@gmail.com or go to our website at www.vbramblers.org for more details of our group’s activities. New walkers are always welcome to come on two or three walks to give us a try before joining.
In the Summer every year, we have two longer walks on consecutive days in the Peak District to give members the opportunity of taking a weekend break there and to avoid excessive travel. On our website you can find images of the walks in the Dark Peak and White Peak from 2014 to the present.
And every September the Group spends a 3-day Weekend Away. On our website you can find photographs of trips to Keswick (2006), New Forest (2007), Hawes (2008), Whitby(2009), Cotswolds (2010), Settle (2011), Wooler (2012), Pickering (2013), Teesdale (2014), North Norfolk (2015) and Ludlow(2016), Church Stretton (2017), Malhamdale (2018), Dolgellau (2019), Selworthy (2020), Bourton on the Water (2021), Derwent Water (2022) and Alnmouth (2023).
Our blog is updated weekly with photographs taken on recent walks. Over five hundred routes are also shown there as OpenStreetMap raster images and are available as .gpx files by contacting vbramblers@gmail.com. Also available on the blog is our latest Walks Programme.
