This is our second visit to Showborough, but on this occasion walkers will have the option of doing either a shorter 7 mile walk (the same as the one we did on 5th May) or an extended 9 mile version, for those who prefer. After the walk, there will again be the opportunity to visit the Showborough House Garden Sculpture Exhibition, to view the incredible selection of art and sculpture in the delightful gardens there.
We will be walking mainly on good paths & tracks plus some road, with one short busyish section to navigate. There are quite a few stiles (approx. 20). It is a little hilly but there is nothing very big or steep. There may be livestock (sheep/cattle) in a couple of fields.
Bring refreshments for a snack break / picnic lunch and please ensure you have your emergency contact details with you.
Note: For those following the longer walk, the time available to visit the house and gardens will be much more limited.
(see weblink below for a map of the route)
Parking is free at Showborough, as is entry to the gardens and art/sculpture exhibition. To get there you are advised to use Google maps. Set the location pin on Showborough House and follow the directions carefully. If SatNav is set using the postcode it will send you to Strensham services! Stewards will be on hand outside the gates to the parking and picnic field. W3W location for Showborough is flocking.lakeside.shameless.
There is a cash and Apple Pay honesty tea room in the Showborough garden and donations to the annual exhibition are of course very welcome. On the walk we will stop for a picnic lunch, although there will also be time afterwards (more limited for those on the longer walk) for people to picnic in the designated area in the parking meadow or to use the tea room and facilities, but only for purchases made there.
