It is essential to book this walk on the North East London Ramblers website: www.nelr.org.uk
The bulk of this walk (7.3 miles) is in the morning.
We will walk through Alexandra Park and then Highgate Woods (where there will be a toilet stop) and then along the Parkland Walk, where we will have our banana break either under the Crouch End Hill Bridge or at the "Merro" cafe on the bridge. We'll then proceed to and through Finsbury Park (another toilet possibility), then follow the New River Path to and past both the East and West Woodberry Down Reservoirs. A short walk down Green Lanes will take us into Clissold Park, where picnickers will picnic and pub-goers will lunch at the Rose & Crown. Please let me know by Friday 1 November if you want a pub lunch.
After lunch, we will walk along Stoke Newington Church Street, through Abney Park Cemetery and then up to Springfield Park. We'll then cross the River Lea into Hackney Marshes and then under a low bridge. We'll then walk through Walthamstow Wetlands, from where there will just be a 10 minute further walk to Tottenham Hale station (or 15 minutes to Blackhorse Road station, if that's more convenient for anybody).
The initial walk up from the station to Alexandra Palace is a moderate incline, but there are no steep climbs or stiles, although plenty of potential for mud if there has been rain.
Lots of possible drop-out points - Highgate, Finsbury Park and Stoke Newington stations, as well as buses in between.
