Walking in North East London
Our members come from all walks of life and are generally based in East London, including the City, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest, though we welcome many from further afield. We usually offer a walk on Saturdays and some weekdays; all are accessible by public transport.
We like to get into the countryside, to the North and South Downs, the Chilterns, etc. Winter walks might be closer to home. Our walks normally vary from 8 to 14 miles, sometimes with drop-out options for those preferring shorter distances.
Most Saturday walks have a lunch stop at a pub, though it is fine to bring a sandwich to eat nearby. We also organise a monthly midweek Coffee & Stroll, where the walk is an optional 1-5 miles through local parks or open spaces, taken at a leisurely pace and with drop-out points near public transport along the way.
Our walks
We offer a range of walks, to suit different abilities. We enjoy socialising along the way and make newcomers welcome. The use of public transport for all our walks makes them widely accessible and gives us more flexibility in the routes we can follow.
Our website gives full details of our walks and contact details for the walks leaders, in case you have any queries.
