Overview

Brian will be giving a talk on basic map reading with a walk to Polkerris and back afterwards. The talk will be based on OS map Explorer 109 1: 25000 scale and it would be handy if those who are coming could bring a copy of that map with them. The meeting will take place at the Ship Inn, Par at 10am, and last about two hours, with a break for coffee at about 11am. After the talk we will have lunch at the pub, they do a good selection of sandwiches and light lunches, all reasonably priced.

The walk will take place after the meeting across fields, along tracks and quiet country lanes to Polkerris, then back along the coast path to the pub.  There are fantastic views across St. Austell Bay and out to sea. It is approximately four miles long, classed as moderate with some steep climbs out of Polkerris, and three stiles. Boots and a stick is recommended.  No dogs. The walk should take about three hours.

As numbers for the talk will be restricted bookings must be made in advance to: camelwalks@gmail.com
