Walsall Group of Ramblers has been around since 1992 and in that time we've introduced many people to the joys and benefits of walking with the Ramblers
Introduction to map reading. The course will cover:
>Types of maps
>Ordnance Survey Explorer
>OS symbols and colours
>Grid referencing 4, 6, & 8
>Positioning of the map
>Contour lines
>North, South, East, West.
>Natural compass
The above to be covered in brief, before we go out and use it around the local area.
Maximum 6 on any one course.
Bring boots or good strong shoes and suitable clothes to match the weather. Some money to get yourselves a drink. The Manor Arms does not do meals but have a selection of crisps and others packet foods. Check out their website.
