Overview

Pack your passport and join us on the late May Bank Holiday weekend for some urban rambling in Paris!

The weekend is flexible so please feel free to join for whichever walks and meals you would like.

Organiser: Patricia

Booking
The weekend is exclusive to current (paid-up) members of the Ramblers. Space is limited to 15 people. Book your place by clicking the ‘Attend’ button on the Meetup event page (if the event is full, click ‘join waitlist’ and you will be added if a place becomes available) .

The usual Stag Walkers booking policy applies.

Please book only if confident you can attend and remember to update your RSVP if you have to cancel.

Travel & Accommodation
Each member will have to book their own travel and accommodation but we suggest the following (the organiser will be using them all):

Travel by Eurostar:
Friday 23 May: London St Pancras Int'l to Paris Gare du Nord
Depart 12:01pm (arrival at 15:29)

Monday 26 May: Paris Gare du Nord to London St Pancras Int'l
Depart 19:01 (arrival at 20:30)

Tickets are on sale already (currently £148 return ) and it is strongly recommended that you book as soon as you have secured your place for this weekend.

Note: all members must ensure they are entitled to and have all the documentation, insurance etc. required to enter a European Union country before booking their train as tickets are not refundable.

Accommodation:
The organiser will be staying just outside of Paris within a short walking distance from the Porte des Lilas Metro Station:
B&B Hôtel PARIS Porte des Lilas

Programme
It will be a sightseeing tour mostly, with free time to visit landmarks.
As well as the world-famous sites - Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées, Sacré Coeur, etc. we could also include a few lesser known places such as Promenade Plantée, Boat trip (after dark), Catacombes.

Transport around Paris will be on foot whenever possible or using the Metro. Metro tickets cost €2.50 for a single journey and can be purchased and used via an app on your phone.

Food
Upon booking we will collect dietary requirements via Google poll in order to select and book places to eat.

We will assume that breakfast will be taken at the accommodation or nearby cafe (members to organise their own), lunch in a park (there are plenty of boulangeries and convenience stores everywhere - if it rains then we’ll have a quick bite in a cafe) and that dinner will be in a restaurant.

Any questions?
If you've not been to a Stag Walkers weekend away before, they are a great chance to explore somewhere new and to spend some time socialising with other members of the group.

If you have any questions about the weekend, please post on the Meetup event page.
