Sunday Hancock Coach- 13th October Ampleforth via Sutton Bank
Ampleforth is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, 20 miles north of York. The village is situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Ampleforth is perhaps best known for its Abbey and College.
Known for its picturesque landscapes, Ampleforth is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The village is surrounded by rolling hills, lush green fields, and beautiful orchards, offering stunning views and plenty of opportunities for walking. On previous walks we have started at mysterious Gormire lake (pic 1), passed the white horse and then had a break at Byland Abbey (pic 2).
Our coach will drop parties of walkers and leaders from their starting point and all walks will finish at our destination today.
There will be a choice of walks - graded Easy, Leisurely, Moderate and Strenuous for you to choose from.
