The best route is M27 to junction 1, follow A337 to Lyndhurst.
Continue on A337 to Brockenhurst.
As you enter Brockenhurst, (((go over the bridge)))and then turn right into Meerut Road. Fact-checker!!!! The bridge isn’t all that obvious but it goes over the Lymington River. Looks more like a stream. Anyway pass pas Bulmer Lawn Hotel on your left then take next right into Meerut Road.
Important, if you miss Meerut Road turn right opposite Carey’s Manor Lodge and then right again into Waters Green.
DO NOT go through the town as the ford at the end of the shops is likely to be too deep!
Turn right into Rhinefield Road, and follow for about 1.5 miles, Whitefield Moor car park is on the right. The car park has public toilets.
The walk will be 9kms (6 miles) in the morning with lunch at the Foresters Arms in Brockenhurst followed by a further 5.5kms (3 miles) walk in the afternoon.
The walk is largely on forest tracks but there will be muddy areas.
