Overview

We take in three important peaks of Winchester viewing some of the City streets and open spaces. From the panoramic view of Winchester on St Giles Hill we head to the Weirs and the old streets near the College.  Heading through Peninsula Barracks we arrive at the open space of Oram’s Arbour site of an ancient hill fort.  We walk through the Fulflood area and along a pretty hidden beech walk to head for Teg Down and the expanse of the Royal Winchester Golf Course where there are also earthworks.  Lanham Lane track takes us along the edge of the City and the countryside and Dean Lane and Cheriton Road bring us back to the City.
