10 am Alderley Park: Radnor Woods open air car park.
Enter Alderley Park at the North Entrance - Church Lodge: the white building. Take the slip road to the left {just after the old security lodge building) and take a ticket from the barrier at the end. First 2 hours free then £1 for each hour thereafter (cash or card). Park at the far end of the car park, diametrically opposite the entrance.
Through the woods and then on to Hocker Lane. Along field tracks (via Painter's Eye). Cross A34 close to the South Entrance to Alderley Park (brick built Bollington Lodge) and walk along Bollington Lane. past the Bollington Pits (disused quarry) and turn up towards Heawood Hall. Cross the Alderley Edge bypass (over the road bridge) and take field tracks to Nether Alderley Church (St Mary's: originally 14th century with more modern additions), through the churchyard (admiring the 1200 year old yew tree) and exiting back onto the A34 where we have to walk a short distance on pavement, along the main road, before crossing back to Church Lodge and taking the footpath through a side gate back to the car park
There is a convenient coffee stop, just over a wooden footbridge, where a number of tree stumps could provide useful seating.
