Starting at The Longest Yarn Exhibition at the Aldershot Royal Garrison Church, we will spend 45 minutes at the D-Day landing exhibition including a huge number of knitted soldiers, tanks, buildings etc. It’s the only one being held in the south of England. *BRING CASH TO PURCHASE POPPIES/BOOKS ETC*. A coffee cabin and toilets are available.
After the exhibition we will go on a short Aldershot walk past Victorian relics of barracks and The Royal Pavilion, into Sunny Hill and Rowhill Nature Reserve. We’ll then visit the Municipal Gardens to visit the airborne and War Memorials, walk along the street to the Princes Gardens to visit the parachute and gurkha memorials before crossing to Willems Avenue for the return to the Wellington statue. Cafes, toilets etc available in the town centre.
