Overview

The second walk of the Ashford Ramblers South Downs weekend, is an 11-miler from Alfriston, that heads to the trig point atop Firle Beacon.

We commence our walk from the Alfriston village sign, close the church & Clergy House, setting off along the South Downs Way. After ascending Firle Beacon, we steeply descend to the village of Firle, to head back in an easterly direction. Passing close to Charleston Farmhouse, our route heads through Alciston, followed by the village of Berwick.

On our return to Alfriston, there are pubs and tea rooms for socialising in post walk.

Walk leader is Kevin Hall
