Overview

From Alstonefield we descend to Milldale, from where we walk to Ilam Rock. Then we follow the footpath up Hall Dale to Stanhope. From Stanhope we take paths back to Alstonefield.

Suggest parking on the village Hall carpark (£ donation advised) on Beresford Lane. Very close by, there is a pay and display car park (£4.75) along The Rakes, where there are toilets. Starting point is from the toilet block along The Rakes
