A walk up the full length of Alva Glen which is steep sided, rugged and quite beautiful. At the top of the glen there is a very steep ascent up The Cloves which is then followed by a short distance of flattish walking until the agricultural road at Glenbuck Burn is reached. From this point the gently descending road is followed towards The Nebit which we climb before looping around the bottom to return to Alva Glen and the car park.
Local Grade B
The walk on the upper reaches of Alva Glen is quite strenuous and can be challenging in places. The path is higher up the glen side from the burn, it is very narrow and the ground falls away very steeply to the right hand side. There are also a few sections where scrambling over rocks is required.
