Overview

Work off all that overeating and overindulgence with a walk around Ashurst Beacon, Beacon Country Park (near Skelmersdale!), and Roby Mill.

Hoping for a nice crisp day, so that we can make the most of the views from one of Lancashire's high points, without too much effort on our part.

Toilets and cafe at start of walk.  Much of the walk is on reasonable tracks, and although we will try to avoid the worst of the mud, please be prepared for poor conditions underfoot and wear the appropriate footwear.  Poles may also be useful if you have them.

Free car parking at start at Beacon Country Park Visitor Centre, Elmers Green Lane, off Beacon Lane, UpHolland, Skelmersdale WN8 7RZ.

Note, there are two Elmers Green Lanes.  USE the one with the signposting to Beacon Country Park Visitor Centre and Coppice Cafe off Beacon Lane.
